Student Voices Fola Ogundiran, boarder Diverse interests define Fola, who heads Honor Council and loves to play basketball. She also sings in the school's gospel group, Soulful Voices, and serves as a boarding prefect. "We go to a girls' school, but we still see boys. We have mixers at least once a month with other boarding schools, and boys from our brother school, Christchurch, can request a visit. …A typical Friday night is going to the movies, hanging out with friends or going to the mall. You always have your friends around when you're a boarding student."
Nicole Lane, boarderNicole is a Student Ambassador (you might get a tour from her when you visit campus!). She runs cross-country and enjoyed this year's service trip to repair homes in rural South Carolina. "The main thing I would tell a girl getting ready to apply to St. Margaret's is be ready to open your mind to new ideas and learn about the world and people around you." Emily Fisher, day student As senior class president, Emily participated in St. Margaret's leadership program. She also played soccer and co-chaired the school's community service organization. Emily will attend Longwood University. "I feel that SMS has allowed me to mature while becoming an active leader. I know I would not have gotten many of the leadership opportunities that I have had here at a public, co-ed school." Cariad Shepherd, boarder Cariad came to St. Margaret's from the French West Indies in the ninth grade. She's plunged into school life as co-captain of the crew team and co-editor of the literary magazine. "Where I'm from, school stops at age 14. I'm thankful to be at St. Margaret's because it has taught me so much about all of the things that I can do -- many that I never realized!" Girl Talk Do you have a question for a current student?
